Eight Off
Plenty of room to think: eight free cells, and every card face up.
The aim
Move all 52 cards onto four piles, one for each suit, starting with the ace and going up to the king.
How the cards are laid out
- Eight columns of six cards, all face up.
- A row of eight free cells at the top. The four cards left over start in four of them.
- Below them, four places for the suit piles.
How to play, step by step
- A card can go onto a column when it is one lower and the same suit.
- Any card can wait in an empty free cell, one card per cell.
- Only a king, or a run starting with a king, can go into an empty column.
- A run in suit can move together if the empty free cells could carry it one card at a time.
- Aces go onto the suit piles, then the 2 of the same suit, and so on.
Tips
- With eight cells it is tempting to fill them. Keep a few empty for moving runs.
- Most games can be won with patience.
